How much does ShipNotes cost?
ShipNotes is free for one repository with unlimited AI changelogs. Paid plans start at $19/month (Starter, up to 3 repositories); Pro is $49/month with unlimited repositories, custom themes, and Slack integration; Enterprise is $99/month and adds SSO/SAML, audit logs, and an SLA.
What is included in the free plan?
The free plan includes one tracked repository, unlimited AI-generated changelogs, a hosted public changelog page with RSS, and email notifications for your subscribers. It is free forever — not a trial — and no credit card is required to sign up.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Every plan begins with a free account: install the GitHub App, connect a repository, and see your first generated release notes before paying anything. You only add a card when you upgrade.
Can I cancel or change plans at any time?
Yes. Billing is monthly through Stripe with no long-term contract — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel from the billing settings whenever you like. When you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then drops to the free tier; your published changelog pages stay online.
What happens if I exceed my plan's repository limit?
Nothing breaks — existing repositories keep working, and ShipNotes simply asks you to upgrade before you can activate additional repositories. Free accounts track 1 repository, Starter tracks up to 3, and Pro and Enterprise are unlimited.
Is there a discount for annual billing?
Not yet — all plans are billed monthly today. Annual billing is on the roadmap; contact us if annual invoicing is a requirement for your team and we will work something out.
