ShipNotes — Acceptable Use Policy
Provider: QVANS LLC, 3955 Greenfield Ct, Boynton Beach, FL 33436 · Contact: legal@getshipnotes.app · Governing law: Florida, USA · Effective date: September 15, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is part of the ShipNotes Terms of Service. It exists mainly because ShipNotes hosts public web pages (changelogs and RSS feeds) on your behalf and connects to third-party platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Slack) whose terms bind us both.
1. Service integrity — you may not
- Access or attempt to access other customers' accounts, repositories, drafts, or data.
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities except through coordinated disclosure to legal@getshipnotes.app.
- Circumvent plan limits, metering, or rate limits; abuse the AI generation pipeline (e.g., prompt-injection attempts to extract other tenants' data, or systematic use of note generation as a general-purpose AI API).
- Resell or white-label the Service without a written agreement.
- Use the Service in violation of the GitHub Terms of Service or GitHub App policies, the GitLab Terms of Use, the Slack API Terms, or applicable export-control and sanctions laws (no use by restricted parties or in embargoed territories).
- Connect repositories you are not authorized to connect on behalf of their owner.
2. Hosted changelog content — you may not publish
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes copyright, trademark, or trade-secret rights.
- Other people's personal data without a lawful basis (e.g., doxxing; publishing user reports containing personal data).
- Malware, phishing content, or links whose purpose is deception.
- Credentials, API keys, or other secrets (also in your own interest — see the pre-publish sensitivity reminder).
- Content misrepresenting affiliation with QVANS LLC, GitHub, or GitLab.
You are responsible for everything published from your account (Terms §3). Changelog pages are for release and product communications — not for hosting arbitrary websites, ad farms, or SEO link schemes.
3. Takedown and abuse reports
- Reporting: anyone may report abusive or infringing content on a hosted changelog page to legal@getshipnotes.app with the URL and the basis of the complaint.
- Copyright: send notices to legal@getshipnotes.app identifying the copyrighted work, the infringing URL, your contact details, a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act, and your physical or electronic signature. Where a notice is valid we will remove or disable access to the content expeditiously, notify the publisher, and accept counter-notices sent to the same address.
- Secrets and security: if published notes expose credentials or an unremediated vulnerability, we may remove the content immediately and notify you, given the urgency.
- We may remove content or suspend pages that violate this AUP, with notice where practicable.
4. Enforcement
Violations may lead to throttling, content removal, suspension, or termination under the Terms, and reporting to platform partners or authorities where required. We consider severity, intent, recurrence, and risk to third parties.
5. Changes
We may update this AUP; material changes follow the Terms' change-notice process (at least 30 days' notice).
